Congrats on the score! I can not say that I am not jealous ...

But if I had an MGC ... I would choose to make a replica of the "Han ESB" version instead of the "Han ANH Hero". The original prop, like the "Greedo Killer", "Luke ESB" and "Han ROTJ" props were made from Mauser replicas made by MGC, precisely like the one you have. A Han ANH conversion would be quite invasive and could not be remade for another blaster version later.
Plus, a "Han ESB" would work better as a sidearm for Imperial costumes. ;)

Thanks for the input, I have those thought to. Because in anh they used a real Mauser. The mgc is the closest thing you can to the real thing. I really really want to make the hero version with this piece. I know I'm using the wrong one for anh. I can get a real Mauser but those are expensive.

I'm also going to build the power 5 Blaster with a denix mauser.

Cool. Are you using a simplified DEC kit?

I am also building a Han ANH "Hero" DL-44. I have been thinking of building it into a Merr-Sonn Power 5 in a non-permanent way and moulding that in silicone before I continue building it into a DL-44. Then I would cast a Merr-Sonn in resin for myself to have for trooping.
