Supporters

While our members make awesome costumes and take all the credit for looking cool at events, we wouldn’t be able to do it without our dedicated supporters. “But what is a supporter?”, I hear you cry! Supporters work with us at events doing anything and everything that is needed to make the event run smoothly.

Most often you will find them in our stand taking photos or talking to the public. You’ll hear them asking people to make way when we are parading through an event (they are LOUD!!!). Generally they will be making sure that everyone is having a good time out on the event floor. What is not seen so much is how busy they are behind the scenes. They help us get into costume, assist troopers who have hurt themselves or damaged their costumes, organise our parades, run to grab supplies when printer ink runs out. You name it, they do it.

Becoming a supporter is a great first step. You don’t need a costume, all you need is a smile and a fun attitude. Check out the event calendar, find an event near you and make contact with your local troopers. They will then guide you.

If you are planning to join one of our clubs then, as well as helping us at the event, you will also get closer to the costumes than anyone else and, if you ask very nicely, might even be able to test some of the costumes so you can decide which suits you best before you buy anything.

Of course, not all supporters go on to become members of any of our clubs but that doesn’t make them any less valuable to us.

Our wonderful supporters make all our lives so much easier and we definitely would not want to go back to trooping without them!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who gives up their time so willingly.
